Canada Dental Care Plan (CDCP): Affordable Dental Coverage for All Canadians

Hamilton City Dental is thrilled to be enrolled in the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) to help as many Ontario residents access their oral health needs.

Canada’s new dental care plan provides basic oral health care to Canadian citizens who may not otherwise be able to afford it. The program will be phased throughout 2024 and 2025, initially covering Canadians aged 65 years and older. The goal is to eventually provide dental care for all uninsured Canadians with an annual household income less than $90,000.

At Hamilton City Dental we want to ensure comprehensive dental care for all our patients, and now with the financial assistance from the Canadian Dental Plan, it allows you to proceed with treatment required that you may have been putting off for some time.

Coverage

The Canadian Dental Plan will reimburse a percentage of the treatment cost to the dental office, based on the established CDCP fee guide and your adjusted family net income. This fee guide differs from the Ontario Dental Association General Practitioners fee guide (ODA), which our dental office follows. A co-pay is the responsibility of the patient.
There are a variety of treatments which are covered under the Canadian Dental Plan which will help to keep your teeth and gums healthy while preventing and treating oral health care issues and diseases.
Some services covered may include; cleanings, exams, radiographs, fillings, and extractions. Other services may require an estimate, which is a process where prior approval is required before treatment commences.

To learn more about the CDCP and how it applies to your family we encourage you to call Service Canada Canadian Dental Care at 1-833-537-4342 (select option number 2) or visit the Government of Canada website by clicking on this link https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/child-family-benefits/dental-benefit/who-apply.html
